My name is Lauralyn but I go by lots of things- Elle, LL, Ellz, and creating beautiful things is my passion. I started creating arrangements when I was a little girl just picking wildflowers on the side of the road. Little did I know then that my passion for flowers would lead me to starting my own business one day. While in college I began working on local farms. I would make arrangements while in the fields to give to family and friends. As my passion grew- I started began planting my own flowers in a corner of a field offered by a fellow farmer. This moment changed my life. I could finally start my own seeds and plant whatever I wished. I started small and through lots of trial and error had success. I then traveled south to serve an internship on a small scale flower farm- It was there where I learned the tricks of the trade. I experimented with style, form, and foraging greens and other trinkets mother nature provided. It was there I developed my skills and found my own style. When I returned home I began booking weddings from word of mouth and started my own business called Milkweed Flora in 2014 as a full service florist. Since then I have rebranded to The Little Florist- a micro florist- focusing on seasonal arrangements and special occasions. By scaling back I have been able to provide the up most quality of flowers and service to my clients. Providing an intimate experience and custom in-season arrangements. That being said- I only provide services during the Michigan growing season beginning May through late September. Doing weddings brings me such a special kind of joy.
